Problem
Client required complete historical extraction of an Instagram profile including posts, reels, IGTV, and story highlights in custom JSON schema format. Instagram profile contained 1,295 posts including images, carousels, reels, and IGTV content. Story highlight collections required separate structured schema. Mixed media types (image, video, carousel combinations). Temporary media URLs that expire after short timeframes.

Developed a Python-based Instagram extraction system with structured JSON parsing and highlight collection handling. Workflow covered: Authenticated request-based extraction from Instagram profile; Pagination handling for all 1,295 posts; Media type detection (image, carousel, reel, IGTV); Structured JSON generation per post; Separate schema for highlight collections.
